In addition to games from the show,Squid Game: Unleashedalso features some new challenges that just fit perfectly in a battle royale. It takes asimilar approach to fellow battle royaleFall Guyswith a fair share of similar obstacle courses, theming them around the school game concept of the show. Not all of these challenges are created equally, however, and some stand out above others by managing to replicate the show especially well or providing a more distinctly memorable experience.
8Snow Day
Snow Day is a survival platformer where contestants are supposed to survive the breaking tiles of ice. Without knowing which tile is going to break next, players have to run and jump onto stable tiles so that they don’t fall and lose the game. Along the way, however, players have to dodge attacks made by other contestants, which include baseball bats and dodgeballs. This game does not appear in the show whatsoever, making it somewhat less exciting than options that replicate memorable show appearances.
10 Best Battle Royale Games, Ranked
Battle royale games, while not as popular as they were in the early 2000s, still have some solid entries to enjoy, some of which are free-to-play.
The whole idea of Snow Day is to be the last player standing. This may prove to be difficult, depending on how many other players are left in the game and what items they happen to pick up. It’s very easy to get knocked around, so staying on your toes is the answer. As a battle royale game, this one is pretty fun, but apart from being based on pure luck and running around the ice to avoid falling in, it’s not thebest multiplayer game.

7Late for School
Late for School is an insane obstacle course whereplayers have to run from one side of the map all the way to the school gateson the other side of the playground. This obstacle course is filled with difficult challenges that players have to navigate, such as moving school buses, electrified swimming pools, and flaming hot BBQ grills. Should you get hit by any of these challenges, it’s back to the last checkpoint. Even getting past the first checkpoint can be a struggle, potentially forcing repeated restarts at the beginning.
This obstacle course is another game not seen in the original show, though it does have its connections. AsSquid Gameis a competition based on playground games meant for children, the theme of being late for school is on target. Although it’s not the most exciting obstacle course due to its only subtle connections to the show, Late for School can be challenging if it isn’t approached with caution. Nothing is worse than being so close to the end and getting hit by a school bus, but there’s just too much going on to truly appreciate the level design.

6Floor Is Lava
Floor Is Lava is another platformer game where contestants jump from platform to platform. Similar to Snow Day, the goal is to avoid the steadily rising lava. Each platform moves up or down, and as the lava slowly creeps up, the idea is to get as high as possible. Though not aSquid Gamechallenge, the Floor is Lava is a classic game that many players will be familiar with, especially in the United States.
Squid Game: Unleashed Will Be Free For Everyone - But You’ll Have To Act Fast
During The Game Awards 2024, Netflix has revealed that the upcoming Squid Game: Unleashed will be free for everyone - for a limited time only.
A common imaginative game for children, Floor Is Lava fits in perfectly withSquid Game: Unleashed, making for a better inclusion than Snow Day. Despite the fact that it isn’t Korean in origin, it makes perfect sense with the theme, andthe concept is easy to grasp while providing dynamic challenges. Familiar threats like dodgeballs and baseball bats are just as relevant here, and they’re more exciting in a context with more vertical intensity.

5Stair Race
Stair Race is another obstacle course in Squid Game: Unleashed. Though there is no obstacle course in the Squid Game television show, this obstacle course features heavy themes from the location of the showand is reminiscent of the stairs in the show itself. The goal is to run up the stairs and make it to the very top while avoiding the obstacles along the way. It’s far from a standard staircase, however, with no shortage moving parts and dangerous precipices.
Among the obstacle courses in the game, Stair Race ultimately stands outas the best of the bunch. It features more interesting challenges and obstacles, such as jumping from platform to platform or swinging shapes. One fun thing to be careful of, as with most of the other games, is that players will pick up items that can make the obstacle course a living nightmare when played with competitive people.

4Dalgona
Dalgona is a game that is taken from the TV show, but it’s very different from its show counterpart. In the originalSquid Game, Dalgona is the tracing of a shape and cutting it from a small cookie without cracking it.InSquid Game: Unleashed, Dalgona relies more on teamwork, as a team of players are in a tower of these giant-sized cookies. Players must run along its outline to break the level of the tower and go to a lower level, ultimately aiming to reach the bottom and run to the middle to win.
The game version of Dalgona further spices things up with the inclusion of different variations, like having three cookies per tower with only one being able to lead to a lower level upon breakage. For a battle royale, the original version of the game might not be particularly exciting or fun, and although the redux isn’t one of the very best, it does offer some interesting changes that ultimately make it aworthwhile online experience.

3Glass Bridge
Glass Bridge is a game inSquid Game: Unleashedthat was taken directly from the show. Like its show counterpart,Glass Bridge features a course made of glass panels. The panels are indistinguishable by sight, and not all panels break upon touching them, but those that do lead to the spiky, dark depths where players are forced to start at the beginning again.
This game is pretty much like the original, minus the weapons that players can use. For example, should you be testing the waters of certain glass panels, watch out for players who swing a baseball bat; they might just send you flying onto the next panel that might break beneath you. It’s ultimately still a simple game, with the only real difference being that these panels are much larger than in the original show. This is certainly a fun multiplayer game, and it’s a pretty loyal copy.

2Squid Game
Squid Game is a challenge that is played in both the mobile game and TV show. It follows a group ofcontestants who must stay inside the squid outline to ensure their victory. Along the outer parts of the outline are weapons which can prove to be useful when knocking opponents out of bounds, but be careful, as plenty of players are waiting to do the same.
Marvel Rivals Review - A Marvel In Super-Powered Multiplayer Gaming
Marvel Rivals pushes the Hero Shooter genre forward but fails to shake off faults that have become disappointing staples in modern multiplayer gaming.
This is another game that is pretty similar to the show. Of course, in the original show, the idea was to stay along the outline and reach the top of the squid, and it focused on two participants.Squid Game: Unleashednaturally expands things to the battle royale format, involving a bunch of competitors running mindlessly around. It’s still a fun game asit involves a lot of physical altercations, and this battle royale is definitely up there in terms of being a fun experience that remains loyal to the show.

1Red Light, Green Light
Red Light, Green Light is an absoluteSquid Gameclassic as an iconic game from the show that everyone will recognize upon hearing the song. Players basically must run toward the finish line, but only during “green light.” Once the song is done and it switches to red light, players must freeze in place or otherwise be shot on the spot. Being killed will send players back to the beginning, where they have to attempt to cross the finish line again.
In its basic form, this game is entirely identical to the show, simply adding some variations that can shake things up. For example, there will sometimes be grass that players can hide in. Other times, there might be an obstacle that will send players back to the beginning. Regardless of the variation, the goal remains the same. Just watch out for players with weapons, because those who are hit right as the song ends will end up being shot. This game is overall simple, easy, and fun for a battle royale, making it the biggest standout inSquid Game: Unleashed.
