What Happened in Dragon Ball Daima Episode #17?

Gomah Shows Off His Newfound Power

Episode #17 picked up exactly where episode #16 left off, with Goku’s group in a standoff with Arinsu and her Majin. Arinsu proposed that they have a one-on-one battle to decide who gets the Dragon Balls, which Goku agreed to. After some debate, Goku went forward as the challenger from their group, while Arinsu selected Majin Duu. What followed was a wild battle between the two, with Goku going Super Saiyan to help resist Majin Duu’s power. Just as things were heating up, however, their fight was disrupted by Gomah himself, emerging from his palace in his massive new form.

Vegeta, as stubborn as ever, attempted to take on Gomah immediately, but was soon surprised by the sheer power which Third Eye Gomah wields. Gomah created a battle arena for their fight to take place in, bringing together floating rocks into a massive new island. Goku recognized Gomah’s threat and ordered everyone to battle, surprising Bulma. Even with Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Supreme Kai, and Glorio, however, the tables were turning against the heroes. Bulma convinced Arinsu tosend in Majins Kuu and Duu to fightGomah as well, and not long after, Neva gave the Tamagami permission to join in.

Even with so many fighters against him, however, Gomah still held strong, and managed to take out Vegeta. He looked to be gaining the upper hand on Goku as well, but he was protected by the Tamagami and Majins, giving him a chance to transform into Super Saiyan 3, ending the episode on a thrilling cliffhanger.

Dragon Ball Daima Episode #17 Was Beautiful Action

This episode was almost entirely action, which is great, since that’s what mostDragon Ballfans are here for. The match-up between Goku and Majin Duu has been awaitedpretty much since Duu’s creation, so it was exciting to finally see them go head-to-head, even if their fight was broken up before it could finish.

Gomah, of course, was the main threat of the episode, showing off his new power in impressive ways. Arinsu’s terror at seeing him with the Third Eye really drove home the difference in power even before the fight began, cluing Goku in that this would be a difficult battle. It was delightful to see Majins Kuu and Duu allowed to fight alongside Goku, as the two have become quite beloved characters already. Even the Tamagami joining in was a treat, proving how seriously Neva views the situation as well.

The episode was absolutely amazing from an animation standpoint, with all the combat looking incredibly fluid, accompanied by long, complex shots of all the characters fighting. It’s clear that the climax ofDaimais going to be an awesome visual feast, and things only stand to get more incredible as Goku brings in his Super Saiyan 3 powers. Let’s not forget, there are still some interesting things waiting in the wings as well–the Join Bugs, for example, which could potentially introduce a new fusion. These final episodes ofDaimawill be fantastic, if this episode is anything to go by.

What to Expect in Dragon Ball Daima Episode #18

It’s Everyone Versus Gomah

Episode #18 ofDragon Ball Daimais entitled “Awakening,” and the preview featured Super Saiyan 3 Goku battling intensely against Gomah in his Third Eye form. The preview didn’t offer much to go on this time around, but it’s pretty safe to assume that the battle with Gomah will continue, dominating most of the next episode. Goku and his allies are definitely in a difficult position, and fans still haven’t seen the limits of Gomah’s power, so it’s hard to say if Super Saiyan 3 will be able to do the job.

Hopefully, episode #18 will be able to measure up to episode #17 in terms of animation quality, and the fight sequences are sure to be just as engaging as they were. It’s clear that extra effort has been put in by the animators to make this climax shine, and it stands a solid chance of makingDragon Ball Daimaone of the best pieces ofDragon Ballmedia to ever be released.
