Themovie is a dark comedythat follows an unfulfilled author who “decides to go on one last adventure in the Isle of Skye before his scheduled demise.” Filmed on location in Scotland and shot entirely outdoors, the cast and crew worked tirelessly to capture the island’s breathtaking views and mountainous aesthetic. The main characters and their bickering dynamic also comes across very well, offering a hint of what’s in store forHappy as Larry. Andre serves as the writer and director of the movie, with Ferrara onboard as a producer. Both creatives are well-versedin the indie genre, having worked together on the 2023 film,Makeup, which stars Will Masheter alongside Andre himself.
Happy as Larryhas already received several awards and nominations for its screenplay and is currently a semi-finalist at the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival. Kevin Walls (This Life of Mine), Izzy Harradine, Calvin Crawley, and Coral Sinclair are all included in the main cast.
