Season 1 ofDaredevil: Born Againwill come to a head in next week’s season finale. TheMCUseries was bound to get off on the right foot considering how many loyal fans have come over from the original Netflix series, which makes its success all the more appreciated.Born Againmanages to maintain the tone of the original series and feels like an apt tribute to its predecessor. WithDaredevil: Born Againepisode 8in the books, season 1 is set to come to a conclusion just as filming has begun for season 2.
It’s hard to believe how much the show has managed to cover in eight episodes. Initially setting up Matt’s retirement from the vigilante life, a string of tragic events forced him to put on the mask again. From the death of Hector Ayala to his girlfriend’s capture by the serial killer Muse, one dynamic that has stayed consistent throughout the series is Matt and Wilson Fisk’s cat-and-mouse game.Episode 8 showed Matt getting as close as he has this season to confronting the mayor, and it’s all bound to come to a head in the upcomingDaredevil: Born Againseason finale.

What To Expect From Daredevil: Born Again Episode 9
Episode 8 showed Matt piecing together that it wasVanessa who arranged for Foggy’s death, not Kingpin. However, his confrontation with the Fisks is cut short as Bullseye escapes prison and attempts to kill Kingpin.Matt ends up taking the bullet meant for Fisk, and although he is guaranteed to survive the encounter since he’ll appear in season 2, episode 9 will follow the aftermath. The season finale may also seal the fate of Matt and Heather’s relationship. He is going to have to come clean about his identity soon if he wants to keep her trust, especially with Heather’s growing distaste for masked vigilantes.
An important character has been notably absent in the most recent episodes. Matt’s previous conversation with Frank Castle was part of what encouraged him to become a vigilante again, sothe show is likely saving Punisher’s ultimate return for a big finale moment. He is confirmed to return inDaredevil: Born Againepisode 9 as Punisher, and he’ll fight side by side with Daredevil, though their opponent still remains to be seen.Daredevil: Born Againneeds to stick the landing with its season finale as it’ll be key in setting up season 2, which shouldn’t be a concern considering season 1’s success.
