Dandadan Season 2’s New Villain Explained
Everything To Know About The Evil Eye
The Evil Eyeis a major villain inDandadan, but he’s more than just a run-of-the-mill evil spirit. Before becoming a spirit, the Evil Eye was just a boy whom the Kito family sacrificed to the Mongolian Death Worm to prevent a volcanic eruption, and when he returned as a spirit, his attempts at saving their next sacrifice ultimately failed. The boy then spent years watching more and more sacrifices be made, and as he did,the boy was consumed by a hatred for the Kito family and humanity, as a whole, turning him into the Evil Eye.
In the present, the Evil Eye tricks Jiji into letting him possess him to fight off the Mongolian Death Worm and the Kito family, and predictably, the Evil Eye takes advantage of the situation to carry out his desire to destroy all of humanity. After a long and hard-fought battle, the Evil Eye was defeated and ready to be exorcised, but Jiji, who felt bad for the Evil Eye after learning his backstory, begged for him to be spared, and from there, the Evil Eye gradually becomes Okarun’s sparring partner and something of an ally to the entire group.

Why The Evil Eye Is Such A Great Addition To Dandadan’s Story
What Makes The Evil Eye A Great Character In Dandadan
The Evil Eye is a character who won’t leaveDandadananytime soon, and that’s great for a variety of reasons. For starters, while Jiji’s lack of powers originally made it difficult to justify his continued presence in the story, with the Evil Eye, not only does Jiji have a way to be involved in the action, but he also gets a way to show off the empathetic parts of his character, as well. The Evil Eye is a great character for giving Jiji a reason to stick aroundDandadan, and that will be great to watch play out.
More than that, of course, is how fun the Evil Eye is on his own. As the Evil Eye slowly acclimates into the group, he grows from being a cruel and sadistic person to a goofy and all-around fun character as his priorities shift from genocide to getting into fights, even when the situation doesn’t call for it in the slightest. The Evil Eye’s great personality makes him one of the best characters inDandadan, and whenDandadanseason 2 finally premieres this July, it will be great to watch that play out in animation.
