The original30 Days of Nightfinally gets a sequel. Originally a failed movie pitch turned into a comic book miniseries, the series in question stunned readers upon its initial release in 2002. In addition to several spinoffs, the series has inspired adaptions to movies and television, and influenced comic book creators at large, even Marvel, as Wolverine once hadhis own30 Days of Night.

Following a New York Comic Con panel from IDW Publishing, their newly announced IDW Dark line has been confirmed to includea direct sequel to the original30 Days of Night, Falling Sun. Below is IDW’s official press release for IDW Dark:

Beyond a title card for30 Days of Night: Falling Sun, nothing has been announced as far as what the story is about nor how the franchise will continue the tale of30 Days of Night. However, the prospect of continuing the series is exciting in itself for a number of reasons.
