WithCreature Commandosset to be the first product to come out of theDC Universe, the show’s future within the franchise is already getting a promising update. As new heroes and villains are making their debut inJames Gunn’s DC Universe, the Creature Commandos will be the first team that fans get to see in the upcoming continuity. However, there may be more plans for theCreature CommandosTV series, as one of the creatives involved in the series explains the hopes there will be more stories for the team.
In a new interview withScreen Rant, theCreature Commandosshowrunner Dean Lorey was asked if the DC Universe show is designed with the intention of having a traditional five-year plan, which thus could set up multiple seasons on Max. While not having that exact design forCreature Commandos, Lorey is definitely hoping for a season 2 renewal, sharing the following:

Dean Lorey: Yeah, we absolutely want to do a second season. There’s no particular five-season plan or anything like that. But we definitely want to do another season. You will see, at the end of the first season, some of the characters that might be part of that, and there’s a lot of fun to come, I hope.
What The Creature Commandos Season 2 Comments Mean
Based on Lorey’s response, Max and DC Studios have not yet decided one way or another about whetherCreature Commandoswill have more seasons. However, it is clear that, unlike some superhero streaming shows,Creature Commandosis not being crafted with the sole intention of it being a limited series. Warner Bros. Discovery will likely want to see how the show performs on Max before cementing the concept ofCreature Commandosseason 2, especially given how early the show comes in the DCU lineup.
Since there have been multiple members to be part of Creature Commandos in the comics, the show can tap into new dynamics through future seasons that would naturally allow the series to keep running. Whoever they also add totheCreature CommandosTV showwill also have the option to play their character in live-action DC Universe movies and TV shows, as Gunn and Peter Safran are looking to have a very connected franchise. IfCreature Commandosalso emerges as a hit for DC Studios, renewing it for additional seasons could kick off their animation division to a good start.
