The sheer variety of attacks implemented by this boss makes them a challenging opponent during the early stages of your journey.
Guangmou is encountered within the Bamboo Grove in Chapter 1 as you make your way toward Black Wind Mountain. Before you reach this boss, you may try to defeat a number of other optional ones throughout the area for extra rewards. For example, defeating the Wandering Wightin the Grove gives you a new spirit transformation that may be useful against Guangmou inBlack Myth: Wukong.

An Important Black Myth: Wukong Combat Mechanic Is Hidden By A Typo
One important mechanic in this Black Myth: Wukong Staff Stance is confusing due to an unfortunate typo, but luckily, it still works incredibly well.
How To Prepare For Guangmou
Be Ready To Deal With Poison
Since you fight Guangmou in Chapter 1, you won’t have nearly as many resources or upgrades available compared to later sections of the story. However, you can stilldefeat enemies in the Bamboo Grove over and overto farm Will and grow stronger. You can use the currency and materials dropped from basic enemies to buy useful items orcraft better armor inBlack Myth: Wukongto raise your defenses.
You may not have enough materials to make a new staff by the time you reach Guangmou, but you should be able to farm enemies near Keeper Shrines to start crafting stronger armor.

Despite his command over the wind, Guangmou alsolikes to use attacks that inflict Poisonbuild-upduring the boss fight. When you are afflicted with Poison, you slowly lose health over time. You need to have ways tocure Poison inBlack Myth: Wukongwhile fighting Guangmou, either through consumables likeAntimiasma Powderor through an upgraded drink within your healing Gourd.
You need a Jade Lotus and Tree Pearl to craft Antimiasma Powder, so try to interact with nature to pick up the materials you need. Have at least a few of these consumables on hand to remove Poison if Guangmou applies it to you. Alternatively, you couldspend 180 Will to purchase Antimiasma Powderif you can’t find any Lotus or Pearl parts needed to craft it.

How To Defeat Guangmou

While fighting Guangmou, you have tododge tons of projectile attacksconjured by the wind-wielding boss. This battleteaches you how to Precise Dodgethrough attacks and slow down time just long enough to retaliate. Managing to perform a Precise Dodge will let you close the distance against Guangmou and start delivering some damage.
If you’ve managed to already beat theboss Guangzhi inBlack Myth: Wukongbefore Guangmou, use a transformation to deal extra damage. You don’t take damage to your own health while transformed since damage taken only reduces the amount of time you’re able to stay morphed.

When you have enough Mana, use the Immobilize spellto freeze Guangmouwhenever you get close. This strong magic will keep the boss in place, allowing you to build Focus and land staggering heavy attacks that deal a lot of damage. As you can see in the above video by YouTube creatorDirect Gaming, you can also use Immobilize to interrupt or cancel Guangmou’s attacks before they activate as well.
How To Counter
Wind Orb Assault
Guangmou starts off this fight by conjuring several wind orbs, which all travel toward you as projectiles. After this, the boss teleports in black mist to appear behind you and strike with a physical attack.
Dodge right after the orbs are released to dodge the teleport attack. Then, either spin your staff to deflect the projectiles or run to one side to avoid them.

Aura of Wind
When pressured up close, Guangmou creates a large, defensive AoE of wind around him, knocking you back if you remain near the boss.
Move backward and away when you see the boss raise his fan in preparation for a quick burst of wind.
Wind Projectile
Guangmou flourishes his fan before launching a large wind projectile at you.
Dodge to the side as the projectile gets close to you. Unlike Wind Orb Assault, this orb does not track your position.
Poison Breath
After taking a deep breath, Guangmou sprays a poisonous mist in front of him in a short AoE that builds up the Poison status very quickly.
Watch for when the boss inhales, then move away or to the side to avoid the range of the mist AoE.
Snake Summon
Guangmou summons many serpents around the boss arena in a square formation as his health gets low. These snakes all spit venomous projectiles that build Poison as Guangmou goes back to performing his other attacks.
Run around the perimeter of the arena to avoid most of the venom shot by each snake. While doing this, quickly dispatch each of these minions until it is just you and the boss again.
