As an action survival game,Atomfalluses a similar crafting system to the ones you expect to see in the genre. In a post-nuclear-winter world similar toFalloutbut unique in its own ways, you’ll rely on the things you can find and craft to survive in the new and harsh world that’s left behind.

Atomfall’s gameplay and storyare a mix of exploration, investigation, and combat, and you’ll need to keep your wits about you to successfully navigate the rules of post-apocalyptic London. Since crafting is a vital part of surviving in post-apocalyptic London, knowing some recipes to craft useful items, such as a Bandage or an Antidote, could save your life. Other key items, such as a Nail Bomb, could help you take down tougher foes when you’re in a sticky situation.

How Crafting Works In Atomfall

Craft On The Go, No Table Necessary

ManyRPGs that include craftingtie the action to some station, forcing you to wait to craft until you reach the checkpoint or can return to whatever base camp the game features, butAtomfallallows you to craft straight from the menu. There’s also a danger to this, however, as the game doesn’t pause when you enter this menu, meaning you need to be supremely confident you’re safe or skilled enough to avoid danger while you craft.

Is Atomfall On Xbox Game Pass Day-One?

With Atomfall only a few weeks from release, many Game Pass members will be hoping for the game to be added to the service on day-one.

To make something, you’ll need to have found its recipe in your exploration first.Once you’ve gotten the recipe and have the required materials, enter the crafting menu, select the recipe you want to make, and hold the button down as it crafts. This takes a bit early on in the game, but you can upgrade your crafting skills to speed up the crafting time as you progress.

The item you craft will be added to your inventory automatically, but you won’t be able to craft if your inventory is full.

As you can see, each recipe, save for a few, can be found in multiple places. Some are easier to get to than others, somake sure to grab the most useful ones early on. Stuff like the antidote and makeshift grenades can make your early game easier, and this sort of quality-of-life crafting is what I prioritize generally whileplaying survival games. Having extra resistance and supplementary weapons like grenades gave me time to get ahold of the exploration and learn what to expect, which was super nice.

Atomfallgives you a few chances to grab the more helpful crafting recipes, but which ones you can use will be limited by what materials you have. As you explore, ensure you’re looking for recipes and the bits and bobs you’ll need to make these items when you need them most.
