TheTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesowe more than a little to Marvel’sX-Men, but surprisingly, the two teams have never had a crossover. One creator is speaking out about an idea he has for what should happen if the Turtles ever meet up with Marvel’s Merry Mutants, and it’s an idea that should have fans demanding a crossover between the two immediately.
In an interview with AIPT, artist Andy Khouri lays out what he would do in a hypothetical X-Men/TMNT collab. Khouri keeps it short and sweet, but his idea is too intriguing to leave on the table,as he stated simply: “I need to see Krang in the Juggernaut’s belly.”

It is a visual that’s so crazy, it feels like it has to be made a reality at some point. Regardless of how the logic of such an idea would play into the story – Krang controlling the Juggernaut by somehow being transplanted into the giant’s stomach needs to happen.

TurtlesXX-MenJust Became A Must
It’s honestly quite the shock that theTMNThas never had a crossover withX-Men, let alone any other Marvel heroes. Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird wore many of their influences on their sleeves when creating their now-forty-year-old franchise, withDaredevil and the work of Frank Millerbeing the most obvious inspirations. Above all else, though,Uncanny X-Menwas the biggest comic of the 1980s, and its influence on the Turtlesis undeniable, not the least because the “M” inTMNTstands for “mutant.”
TMNT Is Better Than Ever and It’s True - We Have The Dark Knight Returns to Thank For the Comeback
“The Last Ronin” redefined the Ninja Turtles franchise for a new era, just as its primary inspiration, “The Dark Knight Returns” did for Batman.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been crossing over with a number of different high-profile properties over the past several years, including the likes ofMasters of the Universe,Power Rangersand the latest one,a crossover withNaruto. The franchise got perhaps its biggest crossover when the Turtle brothers met up with Batman, which resulted in two sequels, another crossover between their animated counterparts, and even a direct-to-video feature film. Given the success of all these pairings, a crossover betweenTMNTandX-Mensounds like a license to print money.

What’s The Hold Up?
The possibilities of what could happen in a potential crossover are enough to get any fan drooling. From ashowdown between Wolverine and the Shredder, toLeonardo and Cyclops co-leading a merged team of mutant turtles and Marvel mutants, to Donatello and Beast asMarvel’s new “science bros”– the story almost writes itself, and as a result, the various team-ups, rivalries and all-out brawls could be the stuff of crossover legends. In essence, it seems like the perfect time for a meeting between theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesand theX-Men…and hopefully they’ll put Krang in the Juggernaut’s belly.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) is a multi-media franchise that began with Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s comics in the 1980s. Throughout the years, their comic books expanded to movies, TV shows, video games, and toys. Most notably, the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ran for nearly a decade and has become a nostalgic staple of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Several other movies have featured the four anthropomorphic turtle brothers (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael), including the trilogy of live-action films in the ‘90s and the more recent movies Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
X-Men
The X-Men franchise, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, centers on mutants with extraordinary abilities. Led by the powerful telepath Professor Charles Xavier, they battle discrimination and villainous mutants threatening humanity. The series explores themes of diversity and acceptance through a blend of action, drama, and complex characters, spanning comics, animated series, and blockbuster films.
