17IKEA: The Co-Worker

Behind The Scenes Virtual IKEA Management Trainer

IKEA’s experience onRobloxis calledThe Co-Workerand, as the name suggests, that’s exactly what it focuses on. Players are placed in a virtual IKEA store and shown “how careers are done differently at IKEA.” The game acts as avirtual preview of what working at a real IKEA would be like, having players help customers, prepare the showroom, cook and serve Swedish meatballs, decorate the set pieces, and manage a team of workers. All these tasks earn EXP and help players to level up and progress up the ranks through promotions.

When the game was first gearing up for launch in June 2024, the store even offered several paid positions within the virtual store (for players ages 18 and up). Unfortunately, even the promise of real cash wasn’t enough to draw a big audience. The game is currently sitting at a paltry 17K likes, a mere fraction of the 1M likes of3008,the other (unofficial) IKEA-themed game on Roblox where players build bases and attempt to hide from the corrupted workers at a (legally distinct) “unusually large furniture store.”

Make, Perform, And Listen To Music

The bright and colorfulSpotify Islandis a place where players canlisten to music or even make their own through Soundtrap.

The experience has plenty of quests to keep players engaged, but its main two draws are the musical Easter eggs, giving nods to various artists hidden around the virtual world, and the fact that artists sometimes make an appearance in the game. A Glimpse Of “Mobility Future”

One of the most unlikely companies to ever grace the digital space ofRobloxis found in theHyundai Mobility Adventure, created by none other than the car company, Hyundai. Rather than simply bringing existing vehicles intoRoblox,Hyundai used the opportunity toexplore what the future of transportation and vehicles might look like.

Robloxplayers can test drive real and conceptual vehicles like the hydrogen-powered N Vision 74 and complete quests meant to introduce the younger generation to sustainable and eco-friendly living.
